Frequently Asked Questions
Why is ‘Sound of Silence’ more difficult than some of the other Piece & Love puzzles?
Piece & Love rates ‘Sound of Silence’ as an 8 out of 10 in terms of difficulty, placing it amongst the brand’s most challenging designs. The challenge stems in particular from the very nature of the illustration: rather than filling the picture with clearly defined objects, Suzie-Q constructs her landscape using tree trunks, foliage, shadows and a wide range of colours.
At the start of the assembly process, some reference points are therefore less obvious. You need to gradually learn to distinguish the subtle differences in the vegetation and the light in order to reconstruct the forest. A poster reproducing the illustration is included in the box and can be used as a guide.

What is the story behind the illustration for ‘The Sound of Silence’?
*Sound of Silence* is a creation by Julie Schalit, also known as Suzie-Q, inspired by the landscapes of the Landes region. The artist works primarily with felt-tip pens and has developed a highly graphic style, featuring bold colours and a slightly retro aesthetic.
Here, she places us in the midst of a pine forest bathed in light. The ocean is not depicted in the foreground, but everything in the image evokes this proximity to the coast: the pine trees, the light and that sense of tranquillity so characteristic of the Landes landscape. The title *Sound of Silence* then takes on its full meaning: one imagines the wind in the trees rather than the noise of the city.

What is the difference between ‘Sound of Silence’ and ‘Walk, don’t run’?
Both puzzles are illustrated by Julie Schalit / Suzie-Q and are set in the landscapes of the Landes, but they do not depict exactly the same moment.
Sound of Silence plunges us into the heart of the pine forest and plays more with light, trees and vegetation. ‘Walk, don’t run’ brings us closer to the ocean with a landscape of dunes and a more open atmosphere. They therefore work particularly well together: two illustrations by the same artist, two facets of the same landscape and two jigsaw puzzles, each retaining its own personality.

Can we frame The Sound of Silence once the jigsaw puzzle is complete?
Yes. Once assembled, Sound of Silence measures 68 × 49 cm. Its felt-tip pen illustration and landscape format make it a piece that’s particularly worth keeping rather than putting straight back in its box.
To frame it, simply choose a frame that fits its dimensions or use a suitable mat. If you wish to handle it or hang it up permanently, a mounting system or glue specially designed for jigsaw puzzles will keep the 1,000 pieces together.
