Three generations of knitting, and still the same passion

It all began in 1972, in a family workshop in the Paris region. Back then, the workshop mainly knitted women's clothing under the name Tricots Jean Marc. Over the decades, the machines evolved, the collections changed, and the know-how was passed down. In 2011, the founder's grandson took up the mantle. A few years later, an order from Japan opened the door to a new adventure: creating a menswear collection that combines France's knitwear tradition with a more contemporary aesthetic.

And so Nitto Knitwear was born in 2022. The name is inspired by the Japanese word associated with knitting, paying tribute to the connection between a French workshop and its Japanese customers. But behind this new identity, the essentials remain unchanged: the clothes continue to be designed and made in the family workshop in Clamart, drawing on a knowledge of knitwear built up over three generations.

Today, Nitto represents a different idea of fashion: less show, more attention to the material, the drape, and the craftsmanship. A philosophy reflected in its winter accessories, such as the Ara merino wool beanie, a simple, comfortable essential available in a wide range of colors.
