The story of this wall is as fascinating as its visual. Born from the idea of artist Frédéric Baron in the 1990s, it brought together over seven years “I love you”s written by people from around the world, assembling this fresco like a puzzle. Created with calligrapher Claire Kito and muralist Daniel Boulogne, the artwork came to life in 2000.
Composed of 612 enameled lava tiles, it brings together the languages of the world, from the most common to the rarest, and the red shards symbolize a broken heart rebuilding itself. As a puzzle, this fresco becomes a timeless tribute to love, universal and multifaceted. With the Je t'aime puzzle, Piece and Love continues to explore poetic and dreamlike themes already present in the 1000-piece puzzle "Bains Voyons.
